Mission News - November 2011

Protestant Campus Ministry

First Congregational is a partner of the Protestant Campus Ministry at the University at Albany (also known as Cornerstone). On Tuesdays during the school semesters, the group has a "Dinner and Devotions" at the Chapel House on the outer perimeter road of the campus, sponsored by various partners. Partners provide dinner for about 20 hungry college students, and often provide an inspirational devotion based on a biblical verse or theme, a throught-provoking video clip for discussion, or other type of brief worship. First Congregational is working with Journey UCC in providing the Dinner and Devotions on Tuesday, November 1st. If you'd like to help with a casserole, side dish, salad or dessert, call Wendy Samson at (518) 439-1113. It is a great time of fellowship with bright, young college students who have been helping cleanup efforts from the flooding in Schoharie, working with The Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, and baking pies for other shelters in Albany. Thank you.
