During advent and stretching through Epiphany, a "mitten, glove, scarf, and hat tree" for adults and children is made available for dontations in the Narthex of First Congregational. The items donated to the tree are distributed to various Capital Region homeless shelters and other organizations in need during this very cold time of the year.

In addition, First Congregational offers a way to donate clothing year-round by offering a "blue box" in the small parking lot off of Woodlawn Avenue. Items placed in the box are donated to local shelters and other organizations in need.
